“The Harpy”, better known then and now as Amy Beiningen Reinertson Narvestad, began 25 year of her own column, “Grace Notes”, in the Sacred Heart (MN) News on December 2, 1943. She and her late husband, Thomas Reinertson, had purchased the newspaper in September, having come from Minneota where they had leased the weely “Mascot” since 1937. Her column reflects life in a small (population 600) town in western Minnesota during the years of World War II.
