Somewhere in France, September 25, 1918
Dear Folks:
Just thought I would drop you a few lings letting you know that I am well and am feeling fine. I don’t think that a soldier gets sick anyway. We sure are a healthy bunch.
How is everything at home? I hope you are well. I wish that you would send me Bill’s address so that I could write to hime. I would like to find out what he is doing. News are somewhat scarce here and so far as war news the papers gives you more than what we know. What I do know is that the Americans are driving the Germans at every point that they meet them and they very seldom have to fall back themselves. From this point of view I don’t figure out how it can last much longer.
Our eats here are good and we manage to get enough rest and sleep. We are here until it is over with and at the rate we are going I think the kaiser will soon hang up. I don’t want you to worry about me because I think we will be home soon. Your Al, Pri. A.F. Stangor, Battery E. 147th F.A. A.E.F.
