The last city of Renville County has been featured in the Main Museum since Fall 2025. This exhibit will be packed up and taken to Building # 4 for the 2026 Renville County Fair. If you have items you would like to donate to this exhibit, please contact Nicole at 507-697-6147!

Sacred Heart, Minnesota, a city with a rich history and a fabulous community. Originally settled along the Minnesota River, it wisely moved to its current location when the railroad arrived.

Founded 1878…..Named after either a hat or a sandbank. Which story do you accept?

Sacred Heart, a city with no Catholic Church, as the settlers were predominantly of Scandinavian lineage.

Sacred Heart is also home to a beautiful museum. The Sacred Heart Area Historical Society is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026!
